Keeping warm

Keeping warm

Good afternoon and a belated Happy New Year.

It’s cold and frosty here in Caernarfon, however there’s plenty to do to keep warm. I’ve been clearing the decks, tidying workbenches and preparing for the year ahead.

I’m excited to be doing a few courses again this year, one with Steve the polishing expert, and another stone setting with the Goldsmiths London. Last year I did about three with Vanilla Ink in Glasgow which were fabulous.

The ‘to do’ list is extremely long, and it is a lovely time of year to get things done. I have some time that feels like a big blank page for new work, and am taking it slowly so that new ideas can come to fruition. A quiet time is necessary to experiment and play before it gets seriously busy again in the workshop and siop iard. I have some delicious stones to set, some new gold, silver and iron rings in the pipeline and I look forward to showing you in due course.

This year’s exciting things ahead:- I will host metalwork courses in our brand new iard workshop upstairs, the first courses in about three years. I will have the usual x3 pop up selling events in Portmeirion, Glynllifon and the National Eisteddfod.

I will also take some time out to travel abroad for the first time in a while.

I have two dates for you to perhaps remember if you are romantically inclined – Gwyl Santes Dwynwen on January 25th, and two weeks later St Valentine’s day on February 14th. I have a few things that could be declarations of love here in siop iard, please do come and visit to browse the biggest selection of work which is hot straight from the bench!
